These Thy Gifts

While historical wrongs committed by the “European Churches” may be forgiven as they fade into the annals of time, it was disheartening history. Panettiere courageously delves beyond the sacraments, the physical structures, and the impenetrable walls of the established Catholic Church.

These Thy Gifts is an authentic novel that depicts unforeseen problems, emerging continuously without a stop. The plot itself is fictional but the setting remains factual. Vincent Panettiere loves to write stories that capture the complexity and diversity of life. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, where he developed a passion for sports and writing. He studied at St. John’s University and Boston University, and then pursued a career in journalism and entertainment. He wrote scripts for movies and TV shows, and represented talented writers and directors in Los Angeles. He also had a stint as an executive at CBS and Twentieth Century Fox. He has published four novels in different genres: A Woman to Blame, a mystery thriller; The Scopas Factor, a historical adventure; These Thy Gifts, a forbidden love story; and The Music of Women, an erotic stream of consciousness. He has also written a nonfiction book called The Internet Financing Illusion, which reveals the hidden dangers of the online world. His novels have won praise and awards for their vivid and authentic depiction of characters, themes, and events.

These Thy Gifts is a historical fiction novel by Vincent Panettiere published in 2023. It tells the story of Monsignor Steven Trimboli, a priest who struggles with his faith and his love for Rosalie LaMarca, the widow of a mobster. The novel spans 50 years, from 1956 to 2006, and covers various events and issues that affect the Catholic Church and the world, such as the Vietnam War, the sexual abuse scandals, the mafia, and the role of women in society. The novel is a dramatic and emotional exploration of the themes of love, sin, forgiveness, and redemption. It also offers a critical and realistic perspective on the corruption and hypocrisy within the Church hierarchy.

Overall, it’s always refreshing to encounter new perspectives that broaden our understanding of such complex topics. Despite the theme, I have to admit that I did enjoy the book’s plot and characters. This is a journey you don’t want to miss. Grab your copy now and enjoy the ride.
