Holding On and Not Giving Up On Self

Spiritual, transformational, thought provoking, and inspirational book will help to transform the hearts and minds of young people through the author’s insights and experiences of honorably serving in the Unites States Army.

Dee Bryant starts out by saying that enlisting in the Army was never a part of her plan after following high school, but it turned out to be a rewarding plan orchestrated by God.  While facing a crossroad in her young life at age 18, she had to decide to remain in her current circumstances of struggle to provide for her basic needs while working fast food or deciding to take risk while stepping outside of her comfort zone in hopes of a better future in the Army.  Her journey was one of failure, perseverance, and triumphs.

The author’s book takes the readers on her military journey where she develops mental toughness while facing failure, disappointment, sadness, fear, losing hope, and taking risk, while learning to fall back on her faith in God to see things through.  The author has added an interesting twist of two short stories about family members who made poor choices as teenagers and have ended up within the juvenile and criminal justice systems.  Her family members give a brief account of their experiences along with their newfound faith in God followed by sincere talk about the importance of making good choices while holding on and not giving up.

This book is an interesting read about what it is like to serve in the Army while never losing faith in self.  The powerful bible scriptures and thought-provoking questions at the end of each chapter will open the lines of communication in a positive way.  This self-help book is a must read across all age groups as clearly documented by ordinary readers in Goodreads.com.  Many teachers will fall in love with this little book. This faith driven book will easily resonate with today’s youth and young adults around the world with a sense of purpose, drive, initiative, and ambition to stay the course while believing in self with a spirit of excellence.
